August 2021 Newsletter

Hey, Matt and Pat here.

The latest Sydney lockdowns have left everyone in a spin and we are all experiencing a range of restrictions.

How we can help you at the moment

We are still able to help you with urgent repairs and emergencies. This essentially means we can assist you with electrical work that relates to your health and safety, TV or internet connections and your telecommunications. While we are in your home, there are certain protocols we need to follow because of the Delta strain of COVID-19. We’ll explain more when you book your appointment.

Even if we can only provide limited services at the moment, you can still plan those upgrades and renovations.

Read on to learn how we are able to provide quotes for the work we can’t do at the moment. By getting a quote now, you can be placed on our “To Do Priority” list so we can do the work for you when restrictions begin to lift.

We even have some lighting tips to provide inspiration and don’t forget to visit our Facebook page where you can see examples of work we have done for other customers. Maybe there’s something there you might like to pop on your wish list for later in the year.

Remember, at Ku-ring-gai Electrical Service, your health and safety are always important to us. For all your home, office and ‘working from home’ wiring needs, call us on 0418 442 578 or email info@kuring.com.au.

Cheers,

Matt Cox & Pat Dobbs

We offer contactless quoting in 3 simple steps

We can’t visit you to provide quotes at the moment but we can quote remotely. Then, if you wish to proceed, we can schedule your project now on our “To Do Priority” list so you have priority service when the restrictions ease.

Here’s what you need to do:

Step 1: To request a quote, simply email us and include:

  • Your name and phone number
  • A description of what you would like us to do
  • Photos of either the problem or the installation site (e.g. for powerpoints, strip lighting or data access points)

Step 2: We might give you a call to chat about your project. Then we’ll give you a ballpark figure so you know what to expect.

Step 3: If you would like to proceed, we’ll pop you on our customer “To Do Priority” list and as soon as the restrictions begin to lift, we’ll contact you to arrange your installation appointment.

It’s that easy.

So if things are bothering you around your home or you are daydreaming of more powerpoints, better lights, more conveniently placed data points or a renovation, send in your photos and contact details and we’ll be in touch.

The right light for the job!

Have you ever tried shaving or putting on make-up when the lighting is poor? Or do you struggle with shadows on your desk or kitchen bench because the lights are in the wrong place?

Placing your lights in the right location for the task at hand will simplify your life! No exaggeration. So here are our 3 top tips for getting the lighting right around your home.

Tip 1: Bathrooms
Relying on a light above your head is bad news for personal grooming. For the best bathroom lighting, place lights above or beside the mirror. These days, you can get some spectacular mirrors with built-in lights. They look amazing and we can install them for you.

Tip 2: Desks for work and study
If the light comes from behind you, your head or hands will create shadows on your desk. This will make it hard to work productively. It will also cause glare on your computer screen making it difficult to read. Instead, use a desk lamp that can diffuse the light or be positioned to shine exactly where you need the brightest light.

Don’t have enough powerpoints for a lamp? Ask us to contactless quote on installing new powerpoints (and data cables) for your home office or study areas.

Tip 3: Kitchens and laundries
If you have overhead cupboards, LED strip lights are great because they can be mounted beneath the cabinets so they shine light directly onto the workspace. They are usually quick and easy to retrofit and can be used above hotplates, wet areas and benches.

Is poor lighting bothering you?
If you are stuck at home getting annoyed about your task lighting, get in touch to arrange a contactless quote. Once you let us know if you are happy to proceed, we’ll add you to our “To Do Priority” list so we can get to work at your place once the restrictions ease.
