Matt Cox – co-owner

With over twenty years of experience, Matt Cox began his career at Ku-ring-gai Electrical Service as an apprentice in 1996. He still remembers his excitement as he left for work on that first day and never dreamed that one day he would be the proud owner of Ku-ring-gai Electrical Service. It seems electricity is in Matt’s blood. His father worked in the industry and as a child, Matt would spend his spare time helping his dad invent electrical devices – even an electronic lock for his bedroom door! With such an established electrical business, many of Matt’s clients have seen him grow up, get married and become a father. But the one thing that has never changed is Matt’s enthusiasm for his work and his passion for doing it right the first time.  

Pat Dobbs – co-owner

Pat came on board with Ku-ring-gai as an apprentice in 2013.  Throughout his apprenticeship he gained valuable experience working alongside Matt. Originally training as an accountant, Pat realised that he preferred a more hands on occupation and he has gone from strength to strength as he has expanded his knowledge and experience. Like Matt, he realised that Ku-ring-gai was the company for him and so he bought half the company in 2019.   His skills complement Matt’s and together they look forward to many years growing and nurturing the business.  

Ku-ring-gai – the business

Ku-ring-gai Electrical was established in 1974 looking after the Sydney North Shore and Hills area.  Over the years we have expanded our business and now cover from the lower North shore up through Chatswood and Killara north to Berowra and West through Pennant Hills and Castle Hill to Kellyville and the Ponds. Matt, Pat and the team are a brilliant and friendly group who appreciate the trust their clients place in them to protect their homes, businesses and families. They understand new clients may feel a little anxious letting a stranger into their home or office, but once you speak to any of the team, you will soon realise you are in safe hands. They will always take time to explain the causes of any electrical difficulty their clients may have. Whether it’s a wiring problem or working towards reducing your power bill, Ku-ring-gai will discuss the options and costs with you so you can make an informed decision.
